Q. What about socialization? A.There are two types of socialization, positive and negative. Positive sociability builds responsibility, cooperation, kindness and love. Negative sociability is the result of coerced age-segregation and builds rivalry, selfishness, peer-dependency and criticism. A home schooled child tends to mix freely with all ages. Without a doubt, a loving, outreaching home environment is the best socializer a child could possibly have. In many areas there are groups of home schooled families that get together for field trips and outings. |

Q. How much time does it take? A. Home schooling takes time but not as much as you might think. Home tutoring is far more efficient than classroom instruction, hence it takes less time. You will not need to teach your child for six or seven hours a day! Homeschooling does require a commitment on the part of the parents. Parents who are willing to commit themselves to the process will find home schooling both rewarding and within reach. |
